May 9, 2021 - Concordia University Ann Arbor held 2 graduation ceremonies this past Sunday, celebrating the accomplishments of another graduating class. The Pigskin Hooligans organization was well-represented with 6 former players among the graduates: Blake graduates from Concordia with a degree in Justice and Public Policy. He turned in a storied career in his time with the Hooligans, winning 4 awards in the 2017 season when he was named the team MVP. Blake made a huge impact on both sides of the ball, making critical receptions on offense while notching 3 interceptions on defense and accumulating many flag grabs. While he was limited by injuries later in his career, he still contributed to the 2018 and 2019 title runs. Hunter graduates from Concordia with a degree in Marketing. He played for the Hooligans in both the 2018 and 2019 seasons, making his mark on the record books. Hunter set the franchise single-game touchdown record with 6 TDs in the team's 72-48 victory over the White Choppas in 2019. He has recorded 12 touchdowns overall along with 3 PATs and 2 defensive interceptions. Josh graduates from Concordia with a degree in Sport & Entertainment Business. He served a sub for the Hooligans in 2019, competing in 2 games. Josh recorded 3 touchdowns, 2 PATs, and an interception in a 76-42 win over The Football Team, earning Bronze Play of the Year after he scooped up a Kordell McNeal forced fumble and scored. He added a TD and an INT later against the White Choppas. Matt graduates from Concordia with his BSN degree in the challenging field of Nursing. He played one year for the Hooligans, contributing to the 2016 championship season that saw the team go a perfect 3-0. Matt showed versatility at multiple positions, passing for 5 touchdowns while hauling in 4 receiving TDs and 3 PATs. He also played solid defense and notched an interception. Perry graduates from Concordia with his degree in General Business. He signed with the Hooligans in the playoffs of the 2019 season, played 2 games in the team's championship run. Perry performed well as a receiver, catching a touchdown in both the team's semifinal victory and championship loss while adding a PAT. RJ graduates from Concordia with a degree in Biology. He played for the Hooligans in both 2018 and 2019, helping the team make a championship game appearance both years. RJ played multiple positions for the Hooligans, throwing for 8 touchdowns while also recording 4 receiving touchdowns and 6 PATs. He contributed on defense with one career interception.
Congratulations once again to all of the Hooligans' graduates! The franchise wishes all of these former players success in their future endeavors.
