The Pigskin Hooligans organization has the privilege of announcing the 2019 flag football All-Star rosters. Two teams of 11 players each have been selected out of a total of 49 league participants this year. League officials Mike Russell and Lauren Drinane headline the two teams. Congratulations to the All-Stars: Mike Russell (Pigskin Hooligans) - Pigskin Hooligans captain Mike Russell earns another spot as an All-Star with the “automatic commissioner bid”. Russell coordinated the league while playing in every game for the Hooligans this year, running solid routes while hauling in 4 receptions in the team’s opening 72-48 win over the White Choppas. 2019 stats: 5 GP Brendan Pfeiffer (Special K) - Brendan receives his first career All-Star selection after the 2019 season. He used his speed throughout the year to make an impact for Special K’s offense, scoring 4 touchdowns and 3 PATs during the season. Brendan also saw time at quarterback, passing for a touchdown. 2019 stats: 2 GP, 1 pass TD, 4 TDs, 3 PATs Carter Richardson (The Football Team / Black Slicers) - Carter earns an All-Star berth after an outstanding rookie year. The Football Team captain tied for the league lead with 12 touchdowns, showing explosive speed throughout the season. Carter also hauled in a PAT while making a defensive impact with 2 interceptions. 2019 stats: 5 GP, 12 TDs, 1 PAT, 2 INTs Dave Rozmys (The Football Team) - Dave receives a spot as an All-Star after his rookie year in the league. He was a dependable receiver throughout the season, snagging 7 touchdowns and 4 PATs. Dave also saw some time at the quarterback position, tossing 2 TD passes. 2019 stats: 4 GP, 2 pass TDs, 7 TDs, 4 PATs Grant Steinborn (White Choppas) - Grant earns an All-Star selection for the second straight year in 2019. He continued to pace the White Choppas offense with a team-high 10 TDs, placing him in a tie for 4th in the league. Grant also caught 4 PATs and passed for 4 touchdowns while adding an interception. 2019 stats: 4 GP, 4 pass TDs, 10 TDs, 4 PATs, 1 INT Harry Kinney (Pigskin Hooligans) - Harry earns an All-Star berth after an outstanding rookie year at QB with the Pigskin Hooligans. He led the league with 33 pass TDs on the year, tying the single-season mark set by the legendary Zach Johnston. Harry also rushed for 2 TDs while adding 2 PATs and 2 defensive INTs. 2019 stats: 4 GP, 33 pass TDs, 2 TDs, 2 PATs, 2 INTs Jake Culp (Special K) - Jake receives a spot in the All-Star selections for the second straight year in 2019. He mainly saw time at quarterback for Special K, leading the team with 10 pass TDs. Jake also added a receiving touchdown and a “pick 6” in the team’s opening game against the Black Slicers. 2019 stats: 2 GP, 10 pass TDs, 2 TDs, 1 PAT, 1 INT Kimmy Thompson (Pigskin Hooligans) - Kimmy earns herself a spot among the All-Stars after her efforts in 2019. She competed for the Hooligans in the playoffs, playing two complete games. Kimmy recorded a touchdown and a PAT while also relentlessly blitzing the quarterback on defense. 2019 stats: 2 GP, 1 TD, 1 PAT Tyson Kleinfelter (Black Slicers) - Tyson receives a selection as an All-Star after his first year in 2019. He led the league champion Black Slicers with 17 pass TDs on the year while finishing 2nd in the league with 10 PATs. Tyson added 4 TDs and a defensive interception as well. 2019 stats: 5 GP, 17 pass TDs, 4 TDs, 10 PATs, 1 INT Vann Acker (Black Slicers) - Vann earns his first career All-Star berth after the 2019 season. As captain of the league champion Black Slicers, he used his speed to record 10 touchdowns on the year. Vann also added 2 PATs and finished tied for 4th in the league with 3 defensive interceptions. 2019 stats: 3 GP, 10 TDs, 2 PATs, 3 INTs Zack Williams (White Choppas) - Zack receives an All-Star selection for his performance in the 2019 season. He showed his speed and agility as a receiver with 7 receiving touchdowns for the White Choppas during the year. Zack also hauled in 2 PATs for his team. 2019 stats: 3 GP, 7 TDs, 2 PATs Lauren Drinane (no team) - Lauren headlines the second All-Star team as part of league administration. She currently is rostered as a member of the CUAA women’s track and field team. While Lauren was not able to play due to a foot injury, she assisted with early season Twitter coverage for the league. 2019 stats: N/A Alex Phillips (The Football Team) - Alex makes it to an All-Star roster after his first year in the league. He finished second in the league with 23 pass touchdowns for The Football Team. Alex also saw time at receiver with 5 touchdowns while making 2 defensive INTs. 2019 stats: 4 GP, 23 pass TDs, 5 TDs, 2 PATs, 2 INTs Chris Lowe (White Choppas) - Chris earns his second straight selection as an All-Star in 2019. He continued to pace the White Choppas’ offense, finishing second on the team with 8 touchdowns and leading the team with 5 PATs. Chris also added 2 interceptions on defense. 2019 stats: 4 GP, 1 pass TD, 8 TDs, 5 PATs, 2 INTs Ethan Vosburg (White Choppas) - Ethan receives his second All-Star berth in a row after his efforts in 2019. He finished third in the league with 19 pass TDs as quarterback for the White Choppas. Ethan also showed the ability to scramble with 3 rushing TDs and a PAT on the year. 2019 stats: 3 GP, 19 pass TDs, 3 TDs, 1 PAT Hunter Lastacy (Pigskin Hooligans) - Hunter earns a spot among the All-Stars for the first time in 2019. He turned in a standout second year with the Pigskin Hooligans, leading the team with 10 TDs as a dependable receiver. Hunter also added 3 pass TDs and 2 INTs on defense. 2019 stats: 3 GP, 3 pass TDs, 10 TDs, 2 INTs Joe Tany (Black Slicers) - Joe gets an All-Star nomination in his first year in the league. He had a great rookie season for the league champion Black Slicers, tying for the league high with 12 TDs. Joe had a league-best 11 PATs while tying for the league high with 4 defensive INTs. 2019 stats: 5 GP, 10 pass TDs, 12 TDs, 11 PATs, 4 INTs Kyle Hebner (The Football Team) - Kyle receives a spot in the All-Star selections in 2019. He turned in a solid rookie season for The Football Team, making a balanced effort at multiple positions. Kyle had 4 pass TDs while adding 5 TDs and 5 PATs. 2019 stats: 4 GP, 4 pass TDs, 5 TDs, 5 PATs Layne Pries (Pigskin Hooligans) - Layne earns an All-Star berth after his rookie year with the Pigskin Hooligans. He showed solid hands and great speed throughout the year, catching 7 TDs and 4 PATs. Layne also made an impact on defense with one interception that went for a “pick 6”. 2019 stats: 4 GP, 7 TDs, 4 PATs, 1 INT Matt Botti (Black Slicers) - Matt receives his fourth career All-Star selection after the 2019 season. He led the league champion Black Slicers with 12 TDs, tying for the overall league lead. Matt also hauled in 9 PATs on the year while making 3 interceptions on defense. 2019 stats: 5 GP, 12 TDs, 9 PATs, 3 INTs Preston Sherman (Black Slicers) - Preston receives his second career All-Star spot in 2019. He passed for 14 touchdowns in the playoffs, helping to pace the Black Slicers to a league championship. Preston also rushed for 2 touchdowns and a PAT. 2019 stats: 2 GP, 14 pass TDs, 2 TDs, 1 PAT Tristan Waechter (Special K) - Tristan earns his second straight selection as an All-Star in 2019. The Special K captain led his team with 5 receiving touchdowns on the year, showing his speed and good hands. Tristan also snagged 3 PATs on the year. 2019 stats: 2 GP, 5 TDs, 3 PATs Congratulations to all of the 2019 All-Stars!
