Facebook has finally fixed the image alignment glitch, so we can proceed with our overview of the 2013 season. Now that we've reviewed each game of the 2013 season in Part 1 of our season overview, let's take a look at the contributions of each individual Hooligan: Mike Russell (captain) - Captain Russell continued to provide solid leadership at the head of the Hooligans franchise in 2013, leading the team to the championship game once again. His shrewd free agent signings mid-season combined with a solid roster of talent made another solid Hooligans squad. On the field Russell contributed several receptions along with a pass breakup. Final stats: 5 GP Angela Martin (co-captain) - Angela turned in another solid season as a Hooligan in 2013. She notched 3 TDs on the year before a finger injury sustained in the team's last regular season game shut her down for the team's playoff run. Angela now has 18 TDs in her Hooligans career which puts her only 3 behind Josh Ulm's franchise record of 21. She also greatly aided the team as a co-captain, coordinating the numerous softball girls on the Hooligans. Final stats: 3 GP, 3 TDs, PAT Bre Taylor - Bre was a stellar addition to the Hooligans in the 2013 campaign. She led both the team and the league with 13 TDs on the year, showing good hands and hard running to pace the Hooligan offense. Defensively she was often charged with guarding some of the opposition's best players, notching an interception on the year as well. Final stats: 5 GP, 13 TDs, 3 PATs, INT Dana Ford - Dana had a good second year as a Hooligan in 2013. She saw a great deal of time at center, snapping the ball well to quarterback Zach Johnston. Dana showed her speed on the offensive side of the football, making solid gains and notching 2 TDs over the course of the year. She also made an impact on defense recording several sacks. Final stats: 3 GP, 2 TDs, PAT Jessie Barns - Jessie was a solid mid-season addition to the 2013 Hooligans team. Having spent 2 years as a running back on Concordia's football team, he showed great speed and some good juke moves to help the offense. Jessie notched a ton of receptions on the year and finished with 2 TDs and 4 PATs, while defensively he also helped out with flag grabs. Final stats: 4 GP, 2 TDs, 4 PATs Justin Litzner - Justin continued his storied flag football career with a great second year as a Hooligan. He continued to be a highly dependable receiver, snagging 3 TDs along with a league-leading 7 PATs on the year. Justin's athleticism also made an impact on defense as he was a dependable flag-grabber and notched an interception. Final stats: 5 GP, 3 TDs, 7 PATs, INT Karlee Schaus - Karlee had a solid rookie year on the Hooligans. She ran good routes on the year, showing good concentration to make catches for some solid gains on offense. Karlee had one touchdown on the season, making a sensational fingertip catch in the championship game that gave the Hooligans an early lead. Final stats: 5 GP, 1 TD Takari Johnson - Takari was a huge free agent signing for the Hooligans late in the year. After making a name for himself in NAIA football with his defense, his impact was mostly felt on the offensive side of the ball as he ran good routes as a receiver. Takari scored 2 TDs for the team late in the year and also selflessly stopped at the 1-yard line to set up a girl TD in the championship game. Final stats: 2 GP, 2 TDs Valerie Carrillo - Val had a great year in her first season with the team. She showed great speed as a receiver, making some explosive gains on the offensive side of the ball. Val was limited for a few games during the season due to wisdom teeth removal, but she hauled in 3 TDs in her first game back showing good hands in the endzone. Final stats: 3 GP, 3 TDs Zach Johnston - Zach came out of retirement in 2013 and was his dominant self yet again at the QB position. He led the league with 28 TD passes, putting just the right touch on the ball to help out his receivers. Zach made an impact on the defensive side of the ball too, notching 3 INTs and helping out with creating defensive assignments. Final stats: 5 GP, 28 pass TDs, 2 PATs, 3 INTs The Hooligans would like to thank each member of the team for their contributions in 2013.
