He has continued to improve as a player, notching a career-high 2 TDs in 2012 and winning the team's Most Improved Player award. Russell looked solid scoring 2 TDs in CUAA's Homecoming Football game this year, and his recruiting skills have once again amassed a championship-caliber squad. He had this to say about the upcoming season: "I am happy to lead this franchise for another year and I believe we have a great chance to repeat as champions!" Angela Martin (co-captain), junior, 3rd yr Hooligan - Angela will be serving as a co-captain this year on the Hooligans. She absolutely dominated the league last year, recording a league-leading 15 touchdowns which also tied the Hooligan franchise record for TDs in a season. For her efforts Angela won both the team's Brittany Davis Memorial Award as the best girl and Breakout Player of the Year for best newcomer. She has great speed honed as a member of Concordia's softball team, and her good hands and consistent ability to get open in the endzone will be a huge asset to the Hooligans again this year. Angela had this to say on returning to the team: "I am pumped to begin my third year as a Pigskin Hooligan!" Zach Johnston, staff, 5th yr Hooligan - The legend has returned. After announcing his retirement following last year's championship, Zach was persuaded to come back to the league by the persistent efforts of Captain Russell. He was a critical part of last season's championship run, passing for a league-leading 32 TDs and taking home the team's MVP award for the 3rd year in a row. Zach has been a steady presence at quarterback over the years, and his speed and leadership make an impact on both offense and defense. Zach had this to say on returning to the team: "After winning it all last season with the Hooligans I truly believed it was time to hang up the cleats. I planned on staying retired and did not think I would change my mind. After a long conversation with Head Coach Mike Russell and a few new additions to the roster, Coach Mike convinced me to come back. Although this is unexpected I am excited for the season and can't wait to help the Hooligans defend our title!" Zach Milner, senior, 4th yr Hooligan - Zach returns to the Hooligans for his fourth season, rejecting offers in free agency to remain loyal to the franchise. He has shown off his blazing speed over the years, making an impact on both sides of the ball against some of the fastest players in the league. Zach has continued to improve his pass catching and he is also listed as the backup quarterback on the roster. He will continue to give the team a solid threat at wide receiver and may see some QB reps this year. Zach had this to say on returning to the team: "Let's bring the title home!" Dana Ford, junior, 2nd yr Hooligan - Dana will be a full-time member of the Hooligans this season. Bre Taylor, senior, 1st yr Hooligan - Bre will be a new signing for the Hooligans this year, spurning many offers in free agency to sign with the team. She has been a member of Concordia's softball team throughout her time at Concordia. Bre had a great showing in both the Homecoming Powder Puff game in 2012 and this year's CUAA Homecoming football game. She runs hard and has good hands, and she should integrate well into the team's offense. Bre had this to say on signing with the Hooligans: "Gotta join with the best team!" Valerie shows great speed in softball running the bases and chasing down balls defensively. She will be able to contribute on offense and defense with her agility.
