The CUAA 2011 flag football season is just around the corner, with games slated to begin sometime next week. Right now there are projected to be around 5 teams in the league, possibly the smallest field in the history of the Pigskin Hooligans franchise. But that small number doesn't mean that success will come easily, as it will likely be a very tight and competitive league just as it was last year. Many athletic baseball and soccer players comprise the rosters of the other teams, and the Pigskin Hooligans will have to be sharp in every game.
This year's Hooligans squad will see some returners but also a significant amount of new faces in the lineup. While many key players from last year's lineup will be gone there will also be some exciting new acquisitions. The key news in the offseason for the team was the return of Captain Mike Russell, who will be attending CUAA for grad school in the MBA program. This eligibility allowed him to remain at the helm of the team and continue to mold the franchise. Perhaps he can follow in Andrew Gumm's footsteps, who finally won his first ever intramural title in ultimate frisbee this year with Blastin' All Y'All. Be sure to check back very soon for a full roster preview of this year's Hooligans squad. We will also be releasing details on the schedule as soon as we receive it. ROLL HOOLIGANS!
