There's a buzz about football surrounding Concordia University Ann Arbor, and it's not just about the new varsity football team. With intramural flag football signups beginning this week, the season is right around the corner and the Pigskin Hooligans are about to embark on another run at the title.
Hooligan Nation has been buzzing ever since last year's team turned in its best performance in franchise history. The Hooligans went 8-2 in the regular season, clinching the #1 spot, and won the first playoff game in franchise history to advance to the title game where they lost a close one to the Kidney Stones. The game was marred by controversy with Martell Buchanan stripping the ball from Brittany Davis late in the game to help seal a Kidney Stones win. A number of questions are on everyone's mind. How many players will the Hooligans retain, and how will the newcomers fit in to the system? Can grizzled veteran captain Mike Russell follow in Steve Ferguson's footsteps by finally winning that elusive championship in his 5th year, as Steve did in ultimate frisbee this year with his Shenanigans? Rest assured that the Pigskin Hooligans organization has been working hard and planning all offseason to bring you the quality flag football you've come to expect from us. Check back here during the year to follow all the action. ROLL HOOLIGANS!
